Property worth thousands Naira were in the early hours of Monday, January 12 destroyed as fire razed some shops at the popular Balogun Market, Lagos Island.
According to National Emergency Management Agency's (NEMA) Southwest spokesman, Ibrahim Farinloye, the fire started at about 4am.
"At 04:36 hours, there was a serious fire outbreak at Balogun market Lagos Island."
However, the cause of the fire outbreak and reports on casualties are yet to be known as at the time of filing this report.
